This is a contract I use in my classroom to stress the importance of safe and responsible Internet use.  All students and parents must sign the contract and agree to abide by the rules listed within.   The development of this contract shows my understanding of the following elements from the NETS-T, CTTC, and CCCT.

CCCT 1.5, 2.3, 3.1, 3.2, 3.5, 3.6

 

Rules for Using the Internet – Mr. Ives’s Class

 

Computer and Internet use in this classroom is a privilege that comes with responsibility.  By signing this contract, you are agreeing to abide by the rules about safety and ethical Internet use below.

 

  1. Do not give your name, address, phone number, school, or any information about yourself to someone on the Internet. People on the Internet are strangers.

 

  1. Do not look at or send pictures that you would not want your parents or teachers to see.

 

  1. Do not look at or send messages that are dangerous to you or others.

 

  1. Do not load your own games or software on the school computer.

 

  1. Do not change, erase, or remove any of the systems or software on the computer.

 

  1. Do not download anything from the Internet into the computer without a teacher's permission.

 

  1. Do not access another student of teacher’s network folder or log into a computer under an account other than your own.     

 

  1. You must follow classroom rules about respecting yourself, respecting others, and respecting property anytime you use the Internet at school or use the school system from your house.
